Granola, with a bean squeezed in

Start the day beanmaxing.

Grabeanola is granola with a real bean squeezed in: garbanzo, cannellini, black bean or red lentil. All the crunch you came for, plus the protein and fiber regular granola never got around to.

The trouble with granola

Somewhere along the way, granola became dessert.

It kept the hiking boots and the health halo. But look in the bowl: mostly oats and sweetener, a crunchy carb load that tastes great at eight and has left the building by ten.

We weren't about to give up granola. So we gave it a job. We took the hardest-working thing in the pantry, the bean, and squeezed it right into the mix.

Regular granola

  • Mostly oats and sweetener
  • Dessert wearing a health halo
  • Hungry again by ten

Grabeanola

  • A real bean in every flavor
  • Protein and fiber, built in
  • Still crunchy. Still craveable.

What the bean brings

Beans do theheavy lifting.

Protein

Beans are one of the great plant proteins. We put them where protein has been missing for years: the cereal bowl.

Fiber

The slow, steady kind. It's the reason a bowl of Grabeanola sticks around instead of bailing mid-morning.

Crunch

The one thing we refused to trade. Toasty, loud and properly crunchy, the way granola is supposed to be.

The lineup

Four beans.Four moods.

One for the sweet tooth, one for the fruit-and-cream crowd, one for the savory breakfast people and one for the classicist. Pick by palate.

Grabeanola Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip pouch, made with garbanzo beans

No. 01 · Garbanzo bean

Peanut butterchocolate chip

For the cookie-jar raider.

Garbanzos are naturally nutty and golden, so we leaned in: peanut butter all the way through and chocolate chips in every handful. It eats like the best corner of a peanut butter cookie. The difference is it's built on beans, so this bowl actually takes you somewhere.

Tastes like

  • Peanut butter cookie
  • Melty chocolate
  • Toasty crunch

Best with

Cold milk, sliced banana, or straight out of the bag.

Grabeanola Strawberry Vanilla Almond pouch, made with cannellini beans

No. 02 · Cannellini bean

Strawberryvanilla almond

For the fruit-and-cream crowd.

Cannellini are the mildest, creamiest bean in the pantry, which makes them the perfect canvas. Bright strawberry up front, soft vanilla right behind it, toasted almond crunch the whole way through. Think strawberries and cream that finally got its life together.

Tastes like

  • Strawberries and cream
  • Warm vanilla
  • Toasted almond

Best with

Yogurt, cold milk, or a handful on your way out the door.

Grabeanola Sesame Miso pouch, made with black beans

No. 03 · Black bean

Sesame miso

For the savory breakfast people.

The one that isn't sweet first. Earthy black beans, toasted sesame and a hit of miso make a salty-sweet, deeply savory crunch. It's as good on yogurt as it is on avocado toast, a rice bowl or a salad. Umami for breakfast sounds strange for exactly one handful.

Tastes like

  • Toasted sesame
  • Salty-sweet miso
  • Deep, roasty crunch

Best with

Yogurt, avocado toast, rice bowls and salads.

Grabeanola Maple Pecan pouch, made with red lentils

No. 04 · Red lentil

Maple pecan

For the classicist.

The cozy one. Red lentils keep things light and crisp, maple brings the warmth and buttery pecans do what pecans do. It's the maple pecan granola you grew up on, rebuilt around a lentil so it lands as breakfast again instead of dessert.

Tastes like

  • Warm maple
  • Buttery pecan
  • Light, crisp crunch

Best with

Warm milk, oatmeal, or baked apples.

Our story

Granola got comfortable. So we squeezed in a bean.

Granola started out as health food. Then it got comfortable. A little more syrup here, a few more chocolate chunks there, and somewhere along the way the healthy breakfast turned into dessert with good PR.

We love granola too much to leave it like that. And we couldn't stop thinking about beans: humble, hardworking and full of the protein and fiber granola kept promising.

So we did the obvious, slightly unhinged thing and squeezed the bean into the granola. Garbanzo, cannellini, black bean and red lentil. Four beans, four flavors and one very crunchy idea.

That's Grabeanola. It's right there in the name: look closely and you'll find a bean, wedged in exactly where it belongs.

Breakfast should carry you, not crash you.
